Part of Orphan X
First published 2020
Evan Smoak has survived everything the government threw at him. The former Orphan X assassin turned vigilante known as The Nowhere Man eliminated every hunter sent to kill him. Now he faces a different problem: what to do when no one is hunting him anymore. Max Merriweather calls him at rock bottom. Max's successful cousin Grant was murdered two months after leaving Max an envelope with strict instructions to deliver it to a reporter if anything happened. The reporter has vanished and someone ransacked Max's apartment. Evan takes the case and quickly identifies the men pursuing Max. He devises a protection plan that seems straightforward. But this mission proves far more complex than Evan anticipated. He cannot complete it alone. Evan teams up with Joey Morales, a brilliant hacker who was the final Orphan recruited, and Tommy Stojack, an underground weapons expert. Together they must navigate Evan's most challenging assignment yet.
