Bree has spent years trying to break into Shifter social circles, and she is just about ready to quit when a lion Shifter crashes into her truck and orders her to drive. His name is Seamus McGuire, and he is running from hunters, police, and other Shifters. He wears no Collar, which means he operates outside the registered system entirely. Bree knows enough about Shifters to understand what that means, and she helps him anyway. Seamus is terrified he has gone feral and killed someone. He cannot be sure of his own mind. His immediate goal is to protect a group of un-Collared Shifters left vulnerable after the destruction of Kendrick's compound. He needs Bree to stay alive long enough to do that. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and, to his growing alarm, someone he cannot stop thinking about. Seamus has to clear his name, keep his charges safe, and hold himself together, all at the same time. Bree has to decide how much she trusts a man who cannot fully trust himself.
