Little Bird

First published 2020

A fisher cat tears through the crow nest, injuring the young birds and stealing the shiny pendant the flock depends on for protection. Little Bird knows she must retrieve their lucky charm before worse fortune befalls them. Her fellow crows doubt her abilities. They see her as too small, too weak, too unreliable for such a dangerous mission. Little Bird sets out anyway, determined to prove them wrong. Her quest takes her across unfamiliar territory, through dense forests and over open water. She faces challenges that test both her cleverness and her will to survive. Along the way she meets unexpected allies, including a goat whose humor lifts her spirits. Each obstacle forces Little Bird to discover strengths she never knew she possessed. Her journey becomes more than a search for a lost object. It transforms into a test of courage that will determine not just her flock's fate, but her own place within it.
