Charlie Laird faces three major problems. His father married a woman Charlie believes practices witchcraft. The family moved into her purple mansion, a place that feels dangerous after sunset. Charlie cannot recall the last time he slept without experiencing terrible nightmares, not even during brief naps. His situation becomes far worse when his nightmares begin escaping from his dreams into the real world. This boundary should never be crossed. When his worst fears start manifesting in waking life, only Charlie can confront them. He will need significant assistance, or Charlie Laird might face permanent lights out. Sleep has become frightening, but staying awake proves even more terrifying. Charlie must find a way to stop his nightmares from taking over both his sleeping and waking hours before they destroy him completely.
