Roar-Choo!

by Dan Santat

First published 2024

Dragon should be fierce and mighty, but something is wrong. Every time Dragon tries to let out a powerful roar, a sneeze comes out instead. Phoenix watches Dragon struggle and offers gentle care. Phoenix suggests rest, warm ginger tea, and nourishing bone broth soup. Dragon refuses all help and keeps trying to roar properly. The sneezing continues no matter how hard Dragon tries. Phoenix stays patient and kind throughout Dragon's stubborn moments. Then Phoenix starts sneezing too. The same cold has spread from Dragon to the caring friend. Now both creatures face the same problem. With Phoenix also sick, they finally understand they both need rest. Dragon stops fighting the illness and accepts care. Together, they take the break their bodies demanded. The story shows how friends support each other and how different personalities can work together when trouble strikes.
