The Ghost and the Haunted Mansion

First published 2009

Penelope Thornton-McClure runs a bookshop and talks to the ghost of Jack Shepard, a 1940s private investigator. She never believed in spirits until she met him. Now her friend Seymour Tarnish faces murder charges after an elderly woman dies and leaves him her mansion on Larchmont Avenue. The will was changed recently under suspicious circumstances. Seymour moves into his inheritance, but the mansion's ghosts torment him day and night. He hires parapsychologists to cleanse every spirit from Quindicott, including Jack. Penelope must stop the exorcism before she loses Jack forever. The thought of Jack disappearing terrifies her more than any supernatural manifestation. She races against time to clear Seymour's name and protect the ghost who has become central to her life.
