Vigfus the Viking expects another routine voyage with his parents Thorveld and Helga, but their longboat drifts into New York Harbor during Operation Sail. He must abandon the aggressive customs that defined his identity and master an alien culture. The stakes become personal when Vigfus realizes what he truly wants. He has never experienced friendship, but he discovers this foreign concept might be worth changing everything he knows about being a Viking.
