Who Will Be My Friend?

by Patricia Evangelista

First published 2018

Ernie the young skunk wakes up each day to an empty burrow and silent woods. He wants nothing more than to find a friend, but making connections seems impossible when you're a skunk. Ernie sets out into the forest anyway, determined to meet someone who might like him. His path leads him to various woodland creatures who offer guidance and encouragement in his quest. Each encounter teaches Ernie something new about friendship and about himself. The other animals see past his reputation and help him understand that friendship requires courage and persistence. As Ernie continues his search, he discovers that the journey toward connection can be just as meaningful as finding the friend he seeks.
