Murder at the Rusty Anchor

Part of Cozy Capers Book Group Mystery

First published 2024

Rain pounds Cape Cod all weekend, keeping customers away from Mac Almeida's bike shop but packing the Rusty Anchor Pub with locals. Monday morning brings a grim discovery when the chef unlocks the bar and finds Bruce Byrne's body sprawled behind the counter. The elderly high school teacher had been a fixture in Westham for decades, teaching nearly everyone in town at some point. When police add Mac's friend Flo the librarian to their suspect list, Mac calls together her Cozy Capers Book Group to investigate. The amateur sleuths have time on their hands as the storm continues battering the coast. They methodically examine clues and interview a long roster of potential killers, all searching for who wanted to silence the veteran educator permanently. The murderer grows increasingly desperate to hide their crime, putting Mac and her book club friends in real danger as they close in on the truth.
