Her friend Gin owns a taffy shop and makes candy for local events. Wealthy genealogist Beverly Ruchart dies outside Gin's store under suspicious circumstances. Police discover Beverly was poisoned the same evening Gin delivered a box of her homemade taffy to a dinner party at Beverly's house. Gin becomes the prime suspect in the murder case. Mac refuses to believe her friend killed anyone. She rallies the Cozy Capers book club members to investigate the real killer. They must solve this mystery before Gin faces charges for a crime she did not commit.
